J. Douglas Gray is President, CEO and a director of Everett Smith Group, Ltd., a closely-held investment company headquartered in Milwaukee. Everett Smith Group (ESG) has investments with control positions in businesses that include automotive leather, sheet metal, rubber, urethanes and electronic assemblies. He is Chairman of the Board of each of Everett Smith Group’s subsidiary companies:

As CEO of ESG, Mr. Gray is responsible for oversight of the existing businesses, as well as identifying and investing in new sectors and/or businesses, to position the group for profitable long-term growth and value enhancement.
ESG generates annual revenues in excess of $900 million at its peak, and employs more than 4,000 people. Operations are located in the United States, Mexico, England, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Hungary, Thailand and China.
Mr. Gray is also currently on the Advisory Board of Trustees of Frontenac, a Chicago-based private equity firm; a Board Member on the Northwestern University Education Advisory Board, an adjunct professor at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and is a trustee on the Northwestern University Board of Trustees.
